Practice

I paint figures in metamorphosis. My work sits in the intermediate state between presence and erasure, an organic approach freed from the traditional frame. I use digital media to extend these states beyond the panel.

A whole summed up in a single word, metamorphosis. To treat this subject is to acknowledge the importance of form while showing its changing nature. It is to create a body, a frame, an outline, then erase it gradually. It is to translate a concept, a feeling, an impression into words, while showing how words transform that idea.
